Methods- Review of heparin as treatment for severe hypertriglyceridemia in diabetic ketoacidosis
- Case: pt with diabetic ketoacidosis complicated by severe elevation of plasma triglyceride concentrations
- Treatment with low-level intravenous unfractionated heparin
- Outcome: prompt reduction in plasma triglyceride concentration and possible prevention of the development of hypertriglyceridemia-associated acute pancreatitis
