GlaxoSmithKline Plc's diabetes pill Avandia doesn't 'positively influence' the health of diabetics and contributes to weight gain, swelling, heart risks and broken bones, according to a review of 18 studies. Avandia didn't reduce death, stop new health complications or improve diabetics' quality of life, according to the analysis published in the Cochrane Library. The drug also didn't lower blood sugar better than other diabetes pills
